James Sync Vs. Oblivion
Strike a Blow by The Street Dogs hits, the crowd pops a little bit for Oblivion as he comes out with his wrestling gear on. Oblivion plays to the crowd a little as he starts to walk down the ramp. Oblivion slides into the ring and he grabs a microphone.
Oblivion: So this is the EWA!
The fans pop a little as Oblivion talks about the EWA.
Oblivion: And I am in the damn main event! And I have to face a man whose accomplishments are well known. Someone who has held titles and someone who has had victories in his career. And he is facing me the person who has never had a match in a big organization. Now I can look at this two ways. I can look at it one way and that one way is I am going to be thrown around this ring like a rag doll. Not even make an offensive move and get pinned just like that. Or, I could look at it in the way that I have everything to gain and I am going to come out here and prove to James Sync and all of you that I am a force to be reckoned with!
The fans start to cheer a little bit more as Oblivion starts to talk about the match.
Oblivion: James Sync I know how you tick I have been in the back with you and I have been picking your brain trying to find out how you tick. I have started to see what makes you, you. That’s right I was not just trying to become your friend man, I wanted to find that one weakness that I could take control of. That I could make you suffer for, that is what wrestling is about trying to find a weakness and then capitalizing on that weakness and make the poor sap with that weakness suffer. If you think I cannot not do that Sync then you are dead wrong because I know I can do it. I know I can make you suffer and it does not take that much to make you suffer.
Oblivion paces back and forth and his voice gains momentum and the fans hang on every word that he spews from his mouth.
Oblivion: Sync, you have had success in your other ventures in this occupation. You have held titles you have broke people and you have made people see how dominant you can be. The problem with this Sync is that sometimes all your work was just given to you. You did not have to work your ass like I have. I had to make sacrifice after sacrifice to make it here. It does not matter what I had to do but I had to do it. A lot of people think that my life was easy to get where I am, but it is not I had to make it on my own. My life was about me moving back and forth trying to make ends meet I did not know what I wanted to do with my life until I saw a wrestling ring and right then right there I made my choice and that was to be a damn good wrestler. That’s right Sync I have decided that this is going to be my life and I know what I am going to do with it. I am going to become a champion and I am going to be a force here in the EWA. I have wrestled some places but I did not get a satisfaction out of it like I think I am going to do here. You know a lot of people think that maybe we are overlooking each other because next week is a tournament for the World Title. I can tell you one thing I am not overlooking you I can’t do it. When I have my mind set on something that is what I want to do. And James Sync tonight the first night of EWA I want to beat you. I want to show you that I am a damn good wrestler and you career has been nothing but one big damn joke!
Oblivion slams down the microphone as Strike a Blow plays over the PA system.

To Be Forgotten .:Is To Be Oblivion:. Reluctantly you open your eyes as you wake up from a nap. You rub your eyes to wake up from the peaceful sleep that you just enjoyed. You are laid back in a wooden chair between a desk and a wall. You are in a small building that is lit up by the loan light hanging above the door outside the building shining through the only window which happens to be opposite you. You lean forward in your chair and stand up slowly, still a bit tired from you hard day off work. You make your way towards the door, grabbing your leather jacket on the way. You slide it on over your black T-shirt which has your name tag on it. You open the door and step out into the cool night air. The smell of your job, the smell of garbage, lingers in the air; you refuse to smell it so you cover your nose with a handkerchief you pull from you back pocket. You make your way through the garbage dump in the middle of the night, heading towards your car in the front of the lot. As you distance yourself from the building, light starts to become scarce with nothing more to guide you then the stars and moonlight. After several minutes of walking you can see the front gate, and beyond that your car. You think yo yourself: "Why did I have to pick the evening shift? I could have easily taken the afternoon one." As you become lost in your thoughts you stop paying attention to where you're walking. You hear a rummaging sound come from your left and you nearly jump out of your skin. you whip a flashlight from your jacket pocket and fumble with the switch. When you finally turn it on and focus it on where the sound is coming from you see a man standing facing a rather large heap of trash. From his backside you can see that he is wearing a pair of Remsen low rise, straight legged jeans, a black t-shirt, and a pair of fire starter motorcycle boots. His long, dirty blond hair hangs down over his shoulders as it moves gracefully in the slight wind that is blowing. The man puts his hand up to his chin and looks like he is looking for something. He spots something in the garbage and reaches to grab it. He pulls up an old teddy bear that is stained with trash and other stuff. It's missing its left eye, its nose, and its right arm. He turns the bear back and forth in his hands and turns half way towards you. You can now see him from a side profile which helps you identify him. His jeans are torn at the knees, he is wearing a black yin and yang bandanna, but the most dominate feature of this man is man is his calm, peaceful blue eyes. His eyes glisten in the light of the flashlight as he looks down at the bear. This man is EWAs Resident Rock Star and six time wrestling champion, James Sync. When he speaks you're not sure if it is directed to you, the bear, or to himself. What you do know is that his voice is calming and reassures you that everything is fine.
A memory lost in time, a keep sake that was carelessly or maybe even accidentally discarded, a piece of someones past, of their heart. Everyday, without thinking, we toss away things that we think are garbage, that we no longer need. We go through a box of old mementos and wonder why we kept them. What we don't realize is that most of what we throw away has made an impact on us in some way. A toy from our youth, a blanket from our birth, a piece of clothing that no longer fits; they all hold memories, our memories. You could have a toy that you've had since birth and throw it out because you forgot what it meant you. A blanket that you always had to have when you went to sleep could be no more then a burden and remembrance of a past weakness. Why do we throw things out? Because we forgot the past, or because we want to forget it? Items from our past, whether they hold good or bad memories, have affected us even if it was slight. Maybe it could be a shirt that you only wore once, but maybe that was the shirt you got your first kiss in. Somewhere someone is thinking about the past, and these thoughts were brought up from an object. Someone once picked up this bear and remembered how much fun they once had with it, but then they think that they are now too old for it, so they get rid of it. This bear has now been forgotten, this bear is now oblivion.
Sync sits the bear on a can and goes to turn away but something catches his eye. Next to the can is an old photo of a man and a women that seem to be dressed up for their wedding. Sync smirks and then continues to talk.
I pity the poor soul that threw this away. Marriage is supposed to be for life, for eternity, but my guess is this one didn't work. But this picture contains so many memories, memories of the marriage and the day they purposed. But now these events and this photo have been forgotten, they are oblivion. Oblivion is the state of being completely forgotten or unknown. People misuse the word oblivion saying that it means destruction, but in fact it means to forget. To destroy something and have it be forgotten is almost impossible, look at 9/11. The trade towers were destroyed, but they will never be completely forgotten. But oblivion also means unknown, like a conspiracy. Speaking of oblivion and unknown there is a man I know that calls himself Oblivion. My guess is that he thinks that the word means to destroy like everything else. But what he is actually conveying is that he is unknown, and after Monday Night, come EWA Crash Course, he'll be completely forgotten. Just as fast has he jumps onto the scene, he'll be taken out, he'll truly be oblivion.
Sync chuckles and flicks the picture into the wind. He looks up into the night sky with the same gleam in his eye.
Oblivion is no more than a rookie, and a cocky one at that. He truly believes that he will be the EWA Champion. Yes he does have a chance, but he has a lot to prove, and he has to start with me. I am a multi-time champion, I have already established myself as a favorite to win the first round of tournament, and the semi finals, and the finals. Oblivion is the least of my worries, I don't even know anything more about this kid other than he thinks he deserves everything. No, my main focus is Jai Killa, a man who has actually beaten me one on one. Fluke or not, cheating or fair, a win is a win. Jai has got his name put on my list, my list for redemption. Jai, here's a little fun fact for you, no man beats me twice one on one. I lost to Nate Richardson, but I beat him several weeks later. I lost to Wolf, but I beat him the next week. I lost to Stu St. Clair in a tournament, but a few weeks later I beat him for the tag titles. Jai, you beat me a few weeks ago, but there shall not be a repeat. Jai can't be forgotten, he can't be an oblivion, he has gotten his name down in the record books as one of the few to have beaten me one on one and yet to get payback. Jai, I suggest you watch my match Monday very carefully because it'll be a sign of things to come, it'll be a memory that will haunt you.
Oblivion, he says he's EWA's Oblivion, and he's right. He is EWA's unknown and after Monday he will become EWA's Forgotten. I will make my first impression here, I will show the fans and the wrestlers back stage what will be in the future, I will do what I do best, make an impact. I will go from James Sync the unknown oblivion, to James Sync the EWA household name.
Sync runs his fingers through his hair and then turns and faces you. He makes his way towards you slowly, if it were anyone else you would feel scared and threatened, but you feel at peace and you trust him even though this is the first time you ever met him. H walks past you and climbs up a set of stairs. He steps onto the guardrail and then pulls himself up to a nearby roof. He brushes off his shirt and then looks at the stars again.
Stars are always seen, they are seen every night, but how many of them does anyone remember? The North Star is the only one someone can point out usually. All these other stars, most of which last for billions of years, eventually become forgotten if they are even known, they eventually become oblivion. Oblivion, he is a young star with a future, he does have a chance of being known, well he did. He decided to step in my way, he is a star that is stepping in front of a superstar, who will win that match up, I wonder? But I will not underestimate him, management thinks he can hang with me so he was put in this main event match with me. To underestimate is to forget, forget turns into forgotten, and then turns into an oblivion. Monday, stars will be born, stars will become superstars, and some stars are just forgotten, Oblivion.
You look up at the sky and away from James and the song forgotten by Linkin Park plays in your head. As the final lyrics run through your head you think you can hear James Sync singing them. You look up to where he was and he is no longer there. You make your way to you car and leave this odd day behind you.
In the memory, you will find me Eyes burning up. The darkness holding me tightly Until the sun rises up.
